  • This month’s Project Lit Book Club theme is “spooky season,” so pick a thriller, mystery, or any scary book you’d like and meet with everyone on Wednesday, October 27th at 8:40 am in the library. There will be snacks and good conversation, so please join us!

 

  • Seniors and Juniors!!! Make sure you check your guidance Schoology page to sign up for upcoming college visits. Currently FAMU is scheduled to visit us on October 25th. You must sign up on Schoology to attend this visit. See Ms. Masiak in guidance if you have any questions.

 

 

  • All Collegiate High School 10th Graders!! Make an appointment with Ms. Masiak to choose your Spring semester Dual Enrollment Class. The spring schedule is up.

 

  • There will be a mandatory Boys Basketball Meeting, Tuesday, October 26th after school in the weight room.

 

  • Any senior girls: There will be a senior women’s meeting in Mrs. Waldrop’s room tomorrow at 8:40am. If you are unable to attend, please swing by her room for info!

 

 

  • Don’t forget the library’s Rules for Vanishing Murder Mystery Party is Wednesday, October 20th from 3-4:30. Remember, you must have RSVP’d with Ms. Neff already to attend! Make sure you have a ride, and we’ll see you Wednesday!

 

  • ASL Club is hosting a Silent Function TODAY @ Old City Subs on US1 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No signing experience required. Please come out and support the ASL Club.

 

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be a part of a Human Foosball Tournament. All students are welcome to join and participate on October 27th at 7pm. So, round up your friends and come out for a night of fun! The tournament will be played at the Ponce De Leon Mall, for more details see King Benford.

  • Anyone interested in joining FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, please see Mr. Davidson in room 970 or Vystar Credit Union for an application. All Applications and fees are due by October 14th.

Tryouts are next week, Monday & Tuesday from 4:10 – 5:30 and Wednesday from 3:10 – 4:30 on the practice field. You need to have all gear and be athletically cleared to tryout.   • The next Florida Teens Read/Battle of the Books meeting will be tomorrow, October 12th from 4-5 pm in the library. If you missed September’s meeting that’s ok, it’s not too late to join! See Ms. Neff to join the Schoology group or for more info.

If you have a public library card, stop by our library and enter your name and library card number in our raffle at the circulation desk for the chance to win Barnes and Noble gift cards. One entry per person, please. Winners will be announced at the end of the month. Good luck!

 

  • Come to Vystar (Room 422) to open an account and receive FREE Chick-Fil-A for the month September. This promotion ends September 30th, and if you refer a friend, you will also be eligible for the promotion. We will be open during ALL lunches Monday-Friday.

 

  • The first meeting of the Project Lit book club is Wednesday, September 29th from 8:40 am-9:10 am in the library before school. This month’s theme is Memorable Memoirs, so you can select any of the Project Lit biographies or autobiographies to read. We will have delicious food and great conversation, so join us! See Ms. Neff for more information and to join the Project Lit Schoology group.

  • Congrats to out Falcon sports program. They had an amazing weekend. Football and Swimming took home awesome wins and in Cross Country Olivia Kemp placed 5th and Ryan Jones 6th.

  • Applications are now available for the National Honor Society. If you are a Sophomore, Junior or Senior with a 3.5 UNWEIGHTED GPA and take at LEAST, two Honors level classes or higher you are encouraged to apply. Applications are available in the media center, guidance, and room 847 and are due on September 17, 2021. No late applications will be accepted. Please see Mrs. Paone or Ms. Morgan Reed for any questions.

  • The first meeting of the year for the Florida Teens Read Book Club will be Tuesday, September 14th from 4-5 pm in the library. If you’ve been interested in joining the book club, this is your chance! Everyone is welcome even if you haven’t read any of the books yet. See Ms. Neff in the library to get the code to the Schoology group ahead of time.

 

  • Do you like to sing? Auditions for Broadway Cabaret, a night that will be filled with musical performances and Hors D’oeuvres! Auditions will be held Tuesday, September 14th in the PAC!

 

  • Are you looking for service opportunities? Come to the Key Club meeting next Tuesday, September 14th at 8:30 in the Media Center for this year’s first meeting.

All girls players hoping to participate, Please see Coach Reid in room 815 before you attend to check that you are athletically cleared. Girls Soccer will meet at the track at 4 pm today. Also, all boys soccer players, meet Coach Messick in the weight room at 4 pm today. You must be athletically cleared to participate.
