  • Wednesday September 22nd will be National See you at the Pole meet up around the flagpole, at 8:30aqm for a time of prayer.

 

  • September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month! To celebrate, the PMHS library wants to reward out public library card holders. If you have a public library card, stop by our library and enter your name and library card number in our raffle at the circulation desk for the chance to win Barnes and Noble gift cards. One entry per person, please. Winners will be announced at the end of the month. Good luck!

 

  • Please come out to Zaxby’s and support our Falcon Swim Team tonight from 5-8 pm. A portion of the proceeds with benefit our swim team.

 

  • Come to Vystar (Room 422) to open an account and receive FREE Chick-Fil-A for the month September. This promotion ends September 30th, and if you refer a friend, you will also be eligible for the promotion. We will be open during ALL lunches Monday-Friday.

 

  • The first meeting of the Project Lit book club is Wednesday, September 29th from 8:40 am-9:10 am in the library before school. This month’s theme is Memorable Memoirs, so you can select any of the Project Lit biographies or autobiographies to read. We will have delicious food and great conversation, so join us! See Ms. Neff for more information and to join the Project Lit Schoology group.

  • Applications are now available for the National Honor Society. If you are a Sophomore, Junior or Senior with a 3.5 UNWEIGHTED GPA and take at LEAST, two Honors level classes or higher you are encouraged to apply. Applications are available in the media center, guidance, and room 847 and are due on September 17, 2021. No late applications will be accepted. Please see Mrs. Paone or Ms. Morgan Reed for any questions.

  • The first meeting of the year for the Florida Teens Read Book Club will be Tuesday, September 14th from 4-5 pm in the library. If you’ve been interested in joining the book club, this is your chance! Everyone is welcome even if you haven’t read any of the books yet. See Ms. Neff in the library to get the code to the Schoology group ahead of time.

 

  • Do you like to sing? Auditions for Broadway Cabaret, a night that will be filled with musical performances and Hors D’oeuvres! Auditions will be held Tuesday, September 14th in the PAC!

 

  • Are you looking for service opportunities? Come to the Key Club meeting next Tuesday, September 14th at 8:30 in the Media Center for this year’s first meeting.

  • Conditioning for Soccer begins this week after school for 1 hour. All girls players hoping to participate, Please see Coach Reid in room 815 before you attend to check that you are athletically cleared. Girls Soccer will meet at the track at 4 pm today. Also, all boys soccer players, meet Coach Messick in the weight room at 4 pm today. You must be athletically cleared to participate.

 

  • National Art Honor Society will meet this Tuesday @ 8:30, Sept. 14, in Ms. Modling’s, room #223.

  1. Pedro Menendez IB Dance Program will be holding Menendez Dance Ensemble Auditions on May 18th from 4-6 pm. Auditions will be held in the PMHS Auditorium. Students auditioning will be dropped off at the front office to sign in and will be dismissed outside the auditorium. No parents are allowed on campus. MDE is an audition-based performance group that represents the PMHS Dance Program on campus and in the community. Please see Ms. Rust if you have any questions.

 

  1. Are you interested in joining our Florida Teens Read Book Club and maybe the Battle of the Books, too? If you’d like to join one or both, come to our meeting on Wednesday, May 5th at 3 pm in the library. If you love to read and talk to other people about books, this is the club for you! Open to all grades! See Ms. Neff for more information.

 

 

  1. PMHS DANCE TEAM TRY-OUTS will be May 24th & 25th in the gym from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. You will need an up to date physical and be athletically cleared. Any questions, please see Ms. Lyndon in room #290.

 

  1. “SENIORS!!!! You have until the July test to still qualify for Bright Futures!!!  Sign up with Mr. Erb for FREE virtual test prep sessions given Tuesday and Thursday nights!!! See Mr. Erb for details!!!”

 

  1. Seniors: make sure you are finding and beginning to return your overdue library books and textbooks from previous years. If you are unable to find your overdue items and need to know the price of them before Senior Clearance Day, stop by the library when they are not testing or message Ms. Neff to find out. All items will need to be returned or paid for by Senior Clearance Day, May 21st.

 

  1. Senior in need of SAT or ACT for Bright Futures, or haven’t taken either test yet, see Mrs. Purtill for a voucher. First come, first serve. There are only a few left, registration is due Friday!

  1. Congratulations to Junior Tobias Brown for setting a new school record in the 169-weight class for the clean and jerk of 270 pounds at FHSAA State weightlifting meet. The previous record was set by Treyvon Bryant in 2014.

Tickets are LIMITED so make sure you get them quick!   $10 each, you can purchase them with Mrs. Seaver Room 825, Before school, during 3rd lunch and after school. Tickets on sale through Friday or until sold out.
