  • Our Project Lit book of the month is “Born a Crime” by the Daily Show’s Trevor Noah. If you are interested in reading Project Lit books and getting involved in the Project Lit movement, join our Schoology group today! Come by the library for the link.

Our Florida Teens Read group and quizzes are now live on Schoology! Ask your English teacher or Ms. Neff on information on how to join.

 

  • September is National Library Card Sign-up Month! Make sure to stop by your local library to sign up for a FREE card that gives you access to thousands of books, movies, CDs, and digital tools.

 

  • Starting Today till next Thursday there will be a sign-up sheet on the outside door of room 290 for Best Buddies. Best Buddies is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships with people that have intellectual & developmental disabilities. Spreading inclusion around our schools. If, interested in joining, please stop by the door of room 290.

 

  • Congratulations to the Cross-Country Team for their awesome performance on Saturday’s home Falcon 5k. The Girls Varsity team placed 2nd. The girls were led by Olivia Kemp, Salah Miller, Astrid Winer, Riley Reinhold and Marley Concha. The boys team was victorious and placed first. The boys were led by Ian Kelber, Ryan Jones, Luke Lawrence, Josh Brett and Sam Courter. Congratulations Falcon Harriers.

 

  • The library still has 5 copies of this month’s Project Lit book, Trevor Noah’s “Born a Crime,” available for students to use.

  • Vystar Credit Union is now open for basic transactions and new accounts. We are open during all lunches. We close at 1pm.

 

  • Girls Weightlifting Meeting September 17th we will have 2 options, 8:55am or 3:55pm in room 206.

 

  • Students, if you forget your lunch your parents may bring you lunch from home. However, there will be no outside food such as McDonalds, Chick Fil A, Burger King, etc. allowed on campus at this time.

  • Students, if you didn’t get to turn in last year’s textbooks, you can start returning them Tuesday (tomorrow) at the new textbook room, the door directly across from the elevator between the media center and front office. You will see a cart outside the door where you can put your textbooks. Please DO NOT put them in the outside book drop—they jam it.

 

 

  • All Modified Schedule Students need to sign out at the front desk with Mrs. Futch prior to leaving campus. If your name is not on the list please see Mrs. Futch at the front desk to verify your schedule.

 

  • 9th and 11th grade students are encouraged to sign up for the PSAT—NMSQT which will be administered on October 14th at PMHS. Students must register by paying the $21 fee online through SchoolPay on the PMHS Testing webpage by this Friday, September 4. All 10th graders are paid for by the state, we will be communicating procedures for 10th grade distance learners who wish to participate

  • Distance Learners – Thank you all for your patience as we worked through this very new experience on the first day of school. Please review Updates and Materials daily for instructions about whether that day’s class will be a live conference or other activity, as not every single day will be a live conference for every class. If you aren’t sure what you are supposed to do, please email your teacher for assistance or message them in Schoology. We’re here for you even though you’re distanced!!!
  • 11th Grade Students – Class Ring order deadline is September 8th! Visit the Rhodes Graduation Services website for more info. 
  • 12th Grade Students – Jostens and Rhodes Graduation Services are our official graduation partner. Please visit their Seniors web page for information including the cap and gown and other senior “swag” ordering deadline of SEPTEMBER 8th, 2020. They are also hosting a webinar online Thursday at 6PM to answer any questions you have about cap and gown and other items.

  • Anyone interested in trying out for Cheerleading, please stop by Mrs. Marston’s Office (front office athletic secretary) and grab a packet. This packet is important to tryout. Tryouts will be held March 30, 31, April 2nd and April 4th.

 

  • Going on now in the library and running through the month of March, we will have a certain number of shamrocks hidden in books. If you happen to check out a book with a secret shamrock, turn it in for a chance to win a prize at the end of the month.

 

  • Battle of the Books team members, we will have a meeting on Tuesday, March 24th from 4-4:45 in the library to prep for our teacher vs. student Battle. Make sure to attend!

 

  • This month’s Project Lit book is The Astonishing Color of After. Our copies have come in, so stop by and pick yours up. We will be meeting on Thursday, March 26th from 4-5 in the library to discuss.
