2/18/2021

  • Mondays & Wednesday’s during lunch there is free tutoring in the media center. Go and get help with all of your questions.
  • Roses are red, violets are blue, chances are good your books are overdue. Don’t forget to return or renew your library books! People may be waiting to read that book you’ve had in your backpack since September, so make sure to return those books or renew them if you’re not done yet. Thank you!
  • “The Snack Bin is open in Ms. Riso’s room, #245 with snacks like chips, candy and drinks. All proceeds go to helping the PMHS Drama Club.
  • Do you have gently used clothes you would like to donate for a chance to win a Target gift card? If so, drop them off at Ms. Krenz room 820 by Friday, February 19th. All items will be donated to local homeless shelters.
  • Don’t forget your Winter Reading Challenges are due Friday, February 26th to the library. Remember, your goal is your own, so you will get a prize no matter how many books you read… we just want you reading more! Prizes will be given out the following week.
  • “ASL Silent Functions are back! Wednesday, February 24 there will be a Silent Function at the Dunkin Donuts, across from the Old Moultrie Publix. The functions from 3 to 5.”
  • Battle of the Books members, our next meeting is this Friday at 8:30. We only have a few more meetings before the battle, so please make sure to make these last few meetings!
  • If you see a boys soccer player today give them a big congratulations!!! They beat Yulee last night in the regional quarterfinals.

  • Blind Date with a Book has returned to the library! Come by and pick up a mystery book for a sweet treat. This runs through 2/12.
  • There are 6 spots remaining for the 2021 Talent Show! See Coach Ryan in Room #935 for details.
  • ASL Club will be meeting in room 985 on Wednesday, February 10th starting at 3:00 PM.
  • We have four embroidery craft kits left in the library. If you’d like to get your own make-and-take craft kit to make your own winter tote bag, swing by the library to pick one up.

  1. The girls basketball won against Clay High last night 54-42 Sarah Scibelli Lead the team with 12 points and Robin Stewart followed with 11 points. The girls will Travel to Bishop Kenny tomorrow for a chance to make it to the District championship. Game is a 7’oclock.

  • Reminder – Semester 1 Ends January 25th! Many students will be starting new schedules on January 26th due to the semester change and consolidating distance learners into sections. Please check HAC tomorrow for your most updated Quarter 3 schedule. If you need a printout of your new schedule please request one in guidance.
  • If you are returning to Pedro in person on Tuesday (welcome back!) and you need a printout of your schedule or any assistance please report to the guidance office first thing tomorrow. Any new students to the PMHS campus are invited to come to guidance first thing Tuesday morning for a tour of the campus and your schedule.

  1. Come join the Earth Club in our Park Cleanup on January 16. You must have your permission slip signed by the 15th. See Ms. Krenz in room 820 for more information.

 

  1. Boys Lacrosse interest meeting next Tuesday the 12th at 4:15pm in the cafeteria.

 

  1. “If you would like to audition for PMHS’ Spring Production of Tinkerbell, auditions will be held in room 245 (Ms. Riso’s room) on January 26th at 4pm. There will also be an optional audition prep workshop for those that want to audition on January 19th at 4pm in Room 245. Please go see Ms. Riso if you have any questions. Sign up sheets for both the auditions and the workshop will be posted on Room 245’s door AKA Ms. Riso’s room.”

 

  1. “The first American Sign Langauge Club meeting will be Wednesday the 13th at 8:00 am in Mr. Davis’ room in the 900 hallway. It is open to all students! We hope to see you there!”

 

  1. How well do you know your teachers? Come down to the library and play Guess the Mystery Reader in the front windows. Turn in your guesses to the library staff. Random winners will be announced during Celebrate Literacy Week, the last week in January. Good luck!

 

  1. This month’s craft from the library is to make your own embroidered tote bag. There are only 14 kits available, so hurry to pick yours up today! Kits are available in the library.

 

 

  1. Attention Falcons, come into VyStar Credit Union to create and account! All new members will receive a goodie bag filled with candy, soda a $5.00 gift card, and a Chick-Fil-A reward. You will also receive a candy gram to give to a person of your choice! “If you are interested in becoming a Student Manager Intern for the 2021-2022 school year!   • Seniors: please return your library copies of Great Gatsby from last year! We are super short on copies for this year’s junior’s so we need yours back ASAP!!!! Please return them to the library bookdrop!!!

 

  • Project Lit members: please make sure to vote on which book you’d like to read ASAP. Ms. Neff needs to get these orders, so the faster you vote, the faster we can get out books! Vote in our Project Lit Schoology Group.

 

  • Battle of the Books members: our next meeting is this Friday at 8:30 am in the library. Please bring quotes and your notebooks!

 

  • Anyone interested in trying out for the softball team, please plan on attending the informational meeting this Thursday, January 7th right after school in room 222. If you have any questions, please see Coach Willis in room 222.

  • Are you up for a challenge? Stop by the library to pick up the Winter Reading Challenge. This reading challenge pushes you to get out of your reading rut and try new books and genres. The challenge starts December 1st and ends February 29th, so you have PLENTY of time! There will be prizes, so stop by and pick up your Winter Reading Challenge today!

 

  • Attention Students: Need help with a class? There is free tutoring offered in the Library on Mondays & Wednesdays during lunch. Stop by and get the help you need with your classes.

 

  • There will be a skills USA meeting on Wednesday 12/9 @ 8:30 in room 400

 

  • Jostens will be here during lunch today. They will have a table set up in the student entrance breeze way! Go by and see them if you have any questions.

 

  • There are only three make-and-take felt fox kits left in the library, so stop by if you’d like one!
