About the Library Media Center

Our Mission
The mission of the PMHS Library Media Center is to inspire our students to learn, create, work together, and discover.

Our Vision
The PMHS Library Media Center will be the center of information and discovery at our school, where students and staff can visit to pursue their goals and passions. We will provide relevant resources for research and student-interest reading, as well as innovative programming and tools to ensure our students are all future ready. Our goal is to inspire everyone to learn, create, and discover.

Sources of Information

The PMHS Library Media Center staff is available to assist students and staff members with finding materials, integrating technology and research skills, collaborating and creating meaningful lessons. We are also available to help students and staff with selecting and using resources for learning and of course, for fun, too! We have thousands of print books, ebooks, and multiple databases for free use by staff and students for pleasure reading and research. Staff and students use their Active Directory information to search our catalog and to check out ebooks. Parents/guardians can always limit what their students can check out by filling out the Parental Choice Library Book Restriction Form. Please see library staff for log in information for our databases. We are open and available to all students and staff, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

PMHS Collection Development Plan

The PMHS Library selects age-relevant books for our collection based on curriculum needs, student requests, teacher requests, and award winner lists. We also aim to be culturally aware and provide books based on our school’s population that provide rich contributions to our existing collection. We base all of our purchases on peer-reviewed, professional resources and the feedback of our Media Advisory Committee. We regularly analyze and weed our collection to ensure we have an up-to-date and relevant collection.
