  • It’s time for another 20 Book Reading Challenge check in! The first 10 students to check in with 10 out of 20 books will get a FREE winter homecoming ticket. Make sure to stop by the library to check in ASAP!

 

  • The RUFF Club is collecting dog and cat food to support local animal shelters. The 4th period class that collects the most food by weight will win a pizza party!  The drive runs through February 14th.  Our goal is 1,500 pounds of food!

 

  • Best Buddies will be selling Cupid Bags at lunch for $2 each. These will be delivered on Valentine’s Day! Please stop by the table at lunch to buy yours!

 

  • Any student interested in playing football this coming season; there will be a very important interest meeting this Friday morning, February 10th @ 8:45 a.m. Location will be announced in the coming days. Please make plans on attending if you want to participate this year.

  • Be a hero and donate blood! Our next blood drive will be this Friday, January 20th.  Sign up during all lunches this week or stop by room 222.  When you sign up you will be entered to win a Chick-fil-A gift card!

 

  • “Attention Link Crew Leaders: There will be a Link Crew meeting in the media center this Friday at 8:45am. Please see Mrs. Bonner if you are unable to attend.”

 

  • The next Battle of the Books meeting will be on Tuesday, January 17th from 4-5 pm. Please bring snacks and t-shirt ideas. We’ll be practicing in our teams. See you there!

 

  • Anyone interested in applying to be a VyStar Credit Union intern for next year, please see Mr. Davidson in room 970 or the credit union downstairs. The deadline for submission is February 28th. Interviews will be in April.

 

  • Congratulations to our girls weightlifting team and especially our Seniors on their final home meet last night, a great win over Nease & FSDB!! Special recognition for Cara Zuaro who won her weight class in both events and broke her own school record with an impressive bench at 225lbs. First place finishers were Kimmy Cernese, Olympic lifts, Jessie Rot and Amiah Dingfelder Traditional lifts, and Adriana Lopez, Elle Bays, and Sierra Pritchard finishing first in both Olympic and Traditional Lifts. Second place finishers were Sierra Alva, Emily Tobuck, Bella Frame and Ava Carter in both events, Jessie Rot and Amiah Dingfelder in Olympic lifts, and Kimmy Cernese in Traditional lifts. Great job again everyone!!

  • Attention RUFF Club Members: Our next meeting will be Wednesday, December 7th after school in room 770. We will be making ornaments for our Angel Tree!

 

  • The Spanish club will be collecting food to add an international flair to our Pedro Pantry. We are encouraging donations of traditional Spanish food; however, we’ll accept food from all countries and traditions. Los chicos y chicas del Club de español will be in the courtyard during the 3 lunches from Monday, December 5 to Friday, December 9. ¡Gracias por vuestra contribución!

  • Seniors, your panoramic picture is November 29th.

 

  • Book Club for today, Wednesday, has been canceled. Don’t forget author Tiffany Rosenhan will be here on Monday, November 28th to visit us, so we will see you then.

 

  • If you haven’t picked up your cookie dough orders for the IB fundraiser, please go to Ms. Shultz room in the Guidance Department. Also, congratulations to our two top sellers of the cookie dough: Sophia Massey and Leandro Alipio. You have each won a $50.00 gift card. Please see Ms. Shultz to claim your prize!

1.)    Seniors, please drop by Mrs. Shumaker’s office to sign for your diplomas and check the spelling of your name, come in between classes or lunch time.

 

2.)    The Battle of the Books meeting will be on Tuesday, November 15th from 4-5 pm in the library. Please share any practice questions with Ms. Neff before the meeting. Please bring food and drinks to share!

 

3.)    Our monthly book club meeting will be on Wednesday, November 16th from 3-4 pm in the library. This month’s theme is “A Book You Are Grateful For.” Bring a book that you are grateful to have in your life. Please bring snacks and drinks to share!

 

4.)    Due to the rainy weather forecast, the Fall World Series will begin today!!  The 2022 Fall World Series dates and times:

7.)    IB Zaxby’s south fundraiser November 8th from 5-8 pm. Proceeds will benefit the International Baccalaureate Program.

  • There will be a Wrestling Parent Meeting, Tuesday November 1st at 6:00 for Boys and Girls Wrestling. See Coach Leonard if you have any questions.

 

  • ASVAB is a standardized test required to join the U.S. military if you are interested, please sign up in guidance. The test will be Nov 4th at 9:30 in the media center.

 

  • The boys entire Cross Country team has qualified for the state meet for the third time in 4 years. The charge was led by Ryan Jones who placed 14th followed by a very fast Spencer Lawrence and Quinn Larson. Ethan Malloy and Luke Gillan were our critical 4 and 5 men, and Tony Fuentes and Gabe Sivyer rounded out our top 7. If you see these men congratulate them for a job well done. On to State meet Saturday at FSU.- Go Falcons.

  • The Ruff Club is having their Annual Fundraiser. Students will be giving the dogs baths in a charity event aimed to support local animal rescue organizations. The event will be held on Saturday, October 29th from 10 am to 2 pm at Pet Supermarket located at 1020 S Ponce De Leon Blvd. Please come out and support this wonderful cause.

 

  • Boys’ Basketball will have tryouts on October 31st at 4:00 in the gym. You must be athletically cleared in order to participate. You must have a physical and athletic clearance cleared by the 31st. No EXCEPTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED. For more information, please see Coach Lockhart in portable 3.

  • FREE ACT/SAT tutoring starts this week! Every Wednesday, in room 830 with Ms. Reid, during all 3 lunches. This week we will begin with ACT English.
