Good afternoon Falcons! Here are today’s announcements.

*If anyone lost a black Adidas shoe there is one in the front office that was found in the courtyard.

*Students attending the Full Sail University and UCF Field Trip need to report to the bus loop at 9:AM on Tuesday, Nov. 20th.  We will be leaving at 9:15 AM.

*There is a battle of the books meeting today after school in the Media Center.  Please make sure you have transportation.

*November 28th, AVID is hosting Pajama Day! Pay $2. To Ms. Verville in the courtyard the morning of the 28th to be able to wear your PJs!  All pajamas MUST be in dress code.

*IB Spirit Night at Zaxby’s, Tuesday Nov. 20th from 5: – 8: PM, includes drive through sales, 10% of proceeds will benefit our IB Program.

*Student – If you are currently taking courses at St. Johns River State College and need to sign up for 2nd semester courses. Please come and make an appointment with your Guidance Counselor.

* Tutoring is cancelled for Tuesday, Nov. 20th. It will resume Nov. 27th.  Tutoring is available every Tuesday and Thursday at lunches, and every Wednesday, from 2:45 – 4:45. We have busing if needed.

*Congratulations to the Special Olympic Basketball athletes for this past Saturday.  Both 3V3 teams won first in their divisions.  Also the Athletes in the basketball skill divisions came away with many Ribbons.  WAY TO GO FALCONS!!!

*Any student interested in the Naval Academy there will be presentations today during all Lunches in the Guidance Conference Room.

The RUFF Club will hold a brief meeting this Wednesday in room 770.  Please make sure you have a ride home.

The Student Council is organizing a Thanksgiving Food Drive Between Monday, Nov. 5th and Friday, Nov. 16th.  All donations will be collected in 1st period classes, Non-perishable Thanksgiving foods are the main target, but donations of bonus items (including fruit cups, powdered milk, peanut butter, cereal, proteins, and mac and cheese) will provide extra points to your class’s score.  See Mr. Hoog in room 955 for any questions.

 

The Athletic Leadership Council will be selling “SimpStrong” bands for a donation of $2. or more.  All proceeds will be going to the Simpkins Family. Students will be selling them at all lunches. You can also see Mrs. Waldrop, Ms. Ostopick, Coach Turner, or Ms. Taylor to purchase them.

AVID is now taking collections for victims of Hurricane Michael.  Please bring in donations of water bottles toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, diapers, canned foods, and non-perishables.  Bring all donations to your 01 class.  Thank you for your generosity!

Senior Football players ONLY: You must see Coach DeVos today to pick up Senior Night information sheet. They are due on Wednesday.          JV/V Football: If you have not picked up your mug, see Coach DeVos in room 985.

Girls Soccer tryouts will be held today, and Wednesday after school this week. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Waldrop in room 200.

If you are interested in trying out for boys soccer, tryouts are today after school at 4:15 at the field.

The Swim Team will be hosting a fundraiser this Wednesday at the Kookaburra Coffee Shop on US1 from 4:30 – 7:30pm. So stop by and have a cup of coffee and a snack with our team!

Attention Artist! If you are interested in doing creative projects around school, you should join NAHS! Meetings are every Wednesday at 8:30 in room 223 (Mrs. Modling). Everyone is welcome.

Best Buddies: The potluck dinner is this Thursday at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria.  Please bring your family and a dish to share!

DRAFT…Good afternoon this is Clay Carmichael Principal of Pedro Menendez with upcoming events and announcements:

Congratulations to Bryn Concha who won the district CTE Presidential Scholar Award; Congratulations to the 2018 National Honor Society Inductees as well as the Volleyball team who is advancing in the state championship play-offs.

I would like to thank everyone for a fantastic homecoming week last week – without argument the most school spirit, fun, wholesome homecoming week ever.

Tonight we have away varsity football at Ridgeview kickoff 7pm.

Saturday Morning our career academy ladies will participate in a STEM related Girls Career Fair at St. Augustine HS.

Sunday IB Dance Ensemble pancake Breakfast 8 to 10; $12 tickets.

Tutoring during all lunches Tuesday & Thursday as well as after school on Wednesdays.

Wednesday – Swim team is having a fundraiser at Kookaburra US 1 4:30-7:30

Monday NHS Boo Bag Sales begin.
