Media Center Services

The PMHS Library Media Center staff is available to assist students and staff members with finding resources, integrating technology and research skills, and collaborating and creating meaningful lessons. We are also available to help students and staff with selecting and using resources for learning and for fun, too!

  • Over 19,000 print books and e-books available.
  • Multiple databases accessible for free (please see library staff for JSTOR login).
  • Staff and students use their Active Directory information to search the Destiny catalog, to see what materials are assigned to them, and to check out e-books.
  • Parents/guardians can always limit what their students can check out by filling out the Parental Choice Library Book Restriction Form.
  • If you have lost or damaged a library book or textbook, please see someone in the library to find out about your options.

Policies and Procedures

  • Students may check out up to 10 books at a time as long as they do not have outstanding items overdue or lost.
  • Books check out for two weeks at a time and may be renewed as long as no else is waiting for that item.
  • We do not charge overdue fines, but if a book is damaged or lost, it must be paid for or replaced with the same item.
  • E-books check out for one week and automatically return to the cloud at expiration.  They can be checked out again as long as no one else has placed a hold on that e-book.
  • Access e-books through the Destiny catalog with your Active Directory login information.
  • Please silence your cell phone when in the media center so as not to disturb others using the space.
  • Students may use the computers in the media center before school and during their lunch break.  They must have a pass from their teacher to come during the school day.  Students must have a signed AUP on file before using school computers.
  • Students may print in the media center for $0.10 per page, only in black and white.
  • Take pride in your school and always clean up after yourself when you are done.
