10/7/2019

  • Attention students!!!! If you are a student with text books or library books that have not been returned in prior years or paid for you will not be able to purchase a Homecoming ticket until you take care of this issue. You can take care of this by bringing the items or the money for the item to the dean’s office during LUNCHES!! See Dean Smith or Mrs. Bozeman.

 

  • There will be a parent’s meeting for Wrestling next Tuesday October 8th @ 6:30 pm in the Media Center. If you have any questions please see Coach Leonard.

 

  • Add a new experience to your life and join a venture that will be great for Pedro and great for you. Seek a seat on the new Menendez High School Student Council. You can get a petition from the media center or from Coach Ryan, Ms. Morrison, Ms. Paone, Ms. Kennedy or Ms. Reed. Take a chance on yourself.

 

  • Students who paid for the PSAT please stop by guidance and see Ms. Lord to pick up a PSAT practice book! If you are a 10th grade student be sure to pick up the PSAT practice books from your English teacher. PSAT is October 16…students remember to bring a calculator and a number 2 pencil!

 

  • The Book Battle Team meets Tuesday, October 8th in the Library right after school until 4:45

 

  • Model United Nations will meet Tuesday from 5-7 in the Media Center. Please see Ms. Reed in room 855 if you have any questions.

 

  • Todays conditioning for girls soccer for is cancelled!!!!

 

  • Drama Club meets today after school in the Cafeteria until 5 pm. There will be NO meeting on Wednesday. Please arrange your ride home for today.

 

  • Vystar is open everyday this week during all lunches. Come open an account to win a mystery bag! We look forward to seeing everyone there.

  • The Boy’s Golf Team scored a double victory against Ridgeview, St. Augustine during a Tri Match at the Royal St. Augustine Golf Course. The Falcon’s shot a team score of 156, the Jackets 165, Ridgeview 250. Jason Duff (Match Medalist) shot a 34, Dylan Harper 36, Gabriel Silvera 41, Sam Steen 45. The boys are now 11-1 for the season.

  • If you missed the first informational meeting about next summer’s trip to Paris, Provence and Barcelona, don’t worry. Mr. Miller, adviser to the student council is holding a second meeting tonight @ 7:00 pm in the media center. Take a chance, find out about the trip, & then make up your mind.

 

  • Attention students!!!!   • There will be a senior men’s meeting this Thursday morning in the gym hallway @ 8:45 a.m. If you can’t make it, please see Coach Melgard.

 

  • Drama Club meets today after school until 4 pm in the Cafeteria. If you have not yet done so, please return your permission slip and interest sheets. Next week, Drama Club will be on Monday. New members are always welcome. Remember to arrange a ride home.

  • The RUFF Club will have a brief meeting this Wednesday in room 700.

  • The Boy’s Golf Team won it’s 9th mach of the year with a 162 to 218 win Vs. Clay High School. The Falcon’s were led by Co-Match medalist’s Dylan Harper, Daniel Rot both scoring 38, Jason Duff shot 40, Gabriel Silvera 46. The Boy Falcon’s next play Ridgeview on Wednesday.

  • This year, representatives to the Student Council will be elected. Four seats for each of the 4 classes are up for election. Beginning on October 1st, petitions to run for a seat in the Student Council may be obtained in the Media Center & in room #’s 935,770,845,840,855.

  • Jason Duff, Match Medalist, shot a 6 under par 66 to lead the Boy’s Golf Team to a 3rd. place finish in the St Johns River Athletic Conference Golf Tournament. Also scoring was Dylan Harper even Par 71, Daniel Rot 74. The Boy’s finished 5 shots out of first place with a 303 finish.

  • Guitar Club will hold it’s second meeting on Thursday September 26th in room 239. No Experience Required. Guitars provided! Electric & Bass Guitars also encouraged to join!

 

  • FBLA- Future Business Leaders of America, will hold a meeting for all interested members, this Thursday at 8:45, In Mr. Davidson’s room (960). All Vystar Academy students are encouraged to join. See Mr. Davidson for more information.

  • Attention all Juniors and seniors: If you would like to meet with a college rep, we have many that are already scheduled. Please stop by guidance to sign up.

 

  • Any 9th, 11th or 12th grade students who would like to take the PSAT on October 16 you must sign up for the test using school pay. Please visit the PMHS homepage and click on school pay to register for this test. Remember, it can give a concordant score for Algebra 1 EOC and it can help qualify students for scholarships! The cost is $21.00

 

  • Anyone interested in Wrestling please see Coach Leonard in the cafeteria during all lunches.

 

  • There will be a skills USA meeting in room 400 on September 26th @ 8:45 a.m. for all interested students.

 

  • The ASL Club will be hosting a silent function at Tropical Smoothie Café in the Moultrie Plaza Wednesday September 25th from 6-7 pm. We hope to see you there!

 

  • The Photo Club will be holding a meeting for current & new members on Tuesday September 24th @ 8:30 a.m. in Room #223.

 

  • Open an account with Vystar Credit Union here at the Pedro Menendez Branch & receive a bag full of free goodies. If you already have an account with us, refer a friend & have them let us know when we make their account and you too will receive one! Come to the branch for more details.

  • There will be a parent meeting for Girls Weightlifting on Monday 09/23 @ 5:30 in the Cafeteria for anyone interested in being on the team. Please see Coach Lippo if you have any questions.
