I walk by our magnetic poetry board every day, but the other day I noticed we had some new ones that are really good! Take a look for yourself!
Here is our wonderful Battle of the Books team from this year. We didn’t win, but they all had a great time and have made friendships that are irreplaceable!
Blind Date with a Book is back! I wasn’t sure if I was going to do it this year, but students asked for it, so here it is!
It’s already been really popular this year, and one student has already read about four or five. It’s awesome seeing the feedback from students on which books they loved and which books they wouldn’t call back for a second date.
Our talented art students made beautiful book art that we’re displaying around the library now. Thank you Mrs. Waldrop and your students!
One of our very favorite authors, Lynne Matson, came back this year to visit our Creative Writing class and hold a writing workshop with them today. She is such a delightful person and is so approachable, which really puts the students at ease. She discussed the writing process and did a mini mapping session for a fantasy book plot.
Students were able to ask questions and get inspiration, and she even had some fun Nil giveaways!
I hope we can have Lynne make it back EVERY year for NaNoWriMo!
Thank you, Lynne!
How cute is this Grinch book display Mrs. Apte made? Love it!
Every year we have a board up to show how many Florida Teens Read books and quizzes students have completed. We’re only at the beginning of October, and look how far so many people have come! Awesome work, guys and gals!
National Hispanic Heritage Month takes place annually between September 15th and October 15th. To celebrate, I made a book display, and as a bonus, our Spanish Club decorated even more. It looks great!
