Feb 1 AXA The AXA Achievement Scholarship is awarded to 52 students nationwide – one selected from each state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Each state winner receives a scholarship award of $10,000. From that pool of 52 winners, ten are selected as national winners and receive an additional $15,000, bringing the national AXA Achievers’ total scholarship awards to $25,000 each.

What does it take to become an AXA Achiever?

Our scholarship winners are known as AXA Achievers. They are ethnically and economically diverse, but they share these qualities:

  • Ambition and drive
  • Determination to set and reach goals
  • Respect for self, family and community
  • Ability to succeed in college

Arts for Life Arts for Life! annually awards $2,000 scholarships to 25 graduating high school seniors in Florida who demonstrate
excellence in one of the following art forms:
• creative writing
• dance
• drama
• music
• visual art
Launched by former First Lady Columba Bush in 1999, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 400
gifted high school seniors.
In addition to the program’s $2,000 cash award, winners will be automatically eligible to receive a matching in-kind
scholarship worth a minimum of $1,000 if they attend one of the participating Florida institutions for higher education:
Broward College, College of Central Florida, Flagler College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida College, Florida
Institute of Technology, Florida Southern College, Jacksonville University, Miami Dade College, Nova Southeastern
University, Palm Beach State College, and Stetson University.

 Vegetarian Resource Group Association

The Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG) offers two $5,000 scholarships each year to graduating US high school seniors who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and communities. The application requires an essay about how the applicant promoted vegetarianism in their high school or community.

The mikeroweWORKS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that rewards people with a passion to get trained for skilled jobs that actually exist. As CEO of the Foundation, Mike Rowe spends a significant amount of time speaking about the country’s dysfunctional relationship with work, highlighting the widening skills gap, and challenging the persistent belief that a four-year degree is automatically the best path for the most people.

Through its scholarship programs, including the Work Ethic Scholarship Program, the Foundation provides financial assistance to qualified individuals with a desire to learn a skill that is in demand. The Foundation has been instrumental in granting more than $3 million in education for trade schools across the country.

 Feb. 1 The James Coach Day Scholarship

Available to any HS track and field active team member of a school participating in the current Bob Hayes Invitational Track and Field Meet may apply. Applicant must participate in a scheduled event at the Bob Hayes Track meet.
