The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.

Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.  Application available at

We are writing to inform you of scholarship opportunities for college-bound, high school seniors in the St. Johns, Clay, Putnam, and Flagler Counties.  Each November, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. sponsors the International High School Essay Contest in conjunction with each chapter’s Achievement Week Luncheon.


Iota Mu Nu is the local chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. that will judge the contest for your school’s participants.  The winner of the local essay contest will be awarded a $500 scholarship and their essay will be entered at the International Contest.  The International High School Essay Contest awards four scholarships:

  • 1st Place: $5,000
  • 2nd Place: $3,000
  • 3rd Place: $2000
  • 4th Place: $1,000

This year’s essay topic is “What Actions Can You Take to Promote Social Justice and Embrace Diversity of All People.”  The deadline for the contest is October 14, 2017.  Local winners will be announced on our about October 21st.  The official rules are attached as well as a flyer for the event.


The local winner(s) and one guest will be invited to the Iota Mu Nu Achievement Week Luncheon on November 11, 2017 where they will be honored.  The scholarship will be awarded upon written verification from an institution of higher learning that the individual has enrolled (i.e. acceptance to an institution is not suffice).  The International awards will be announced on or around June 8, 2018.

Eligibility: Open to all college-bound, high school seniors living is Clay, St. Johns, Putnam and Flagler counties

The essay must be entitled:

The essay must be original and neither previously published nor secured by copyright.
The essay must be between 700 and 750 words in length.

The type-written, double-spaced essay may be submitted via postal service or email ([email protected]) in Microsoft Word
