 The SJR State Collier-Blocker Minority In-District Scholarships are designed specifically for minority residents of SJR State’s service district who would potentially otherwise not have the ability to attend college.  A minimum total of 12 scholarships will be available each year to students from Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns Counties (6 new and 6 returning scholarship students).  This scholarship is for students at the Postsecondary Adult Vocational or Associate Degree level only.  Students are selected on the basis of their desire to pursue their education at SJR State and their demonstrated ability to succeed in college.  The value of the scholarship includes tuition, fees, and all required textbooks for up to 36 semester hours of enrollment at SJR State per academic year in addition to a stipend for other expenses such as room and board and/or commuting expenses of $1200 per year for full time students ($500 fall and spring and $200 summer) and $600 per year for part-time students ($250 fall and spring and $100 summer).  The Collier-Blocker Scholarship cannot be used for Bachelor’s degree classes at St. Johns River State College.

Applicants must have a valid dependent’s I. D. card (United States Uniformed Services Identification and Privileges Card). Applicants must show basis of need for financial assistance, have a scholastic standing of at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA), and be a graduate of an accredited high school or its equivalent or will qualify for graduation prior to beginning eligibility for assistance. Academic Scholarships to Local Students

The St. Johns County Medical Alliance offers scholarships to graduating St. Johns County high school seniors pursuing an education in pre-medicine, nursing, or allied health.

Applicants must reside in St. Johns County and plan to begin a program of study in the fall of 2016 at an accredited institution. This includes a four year college or university or a two year community or junior college. Scholarship applicants are evaluated on academic ability, school involvement, community service, and financial need. None of these categories are self-limiting.

The Horatio Alger Career and Technical Scholarship is opening on March 15th. Student needs to have their SAR from their FAFSA to complete scholarship. FCTC had over 34 students awarded it last year!!!

 

The money goes to the school to be dispersed so I highly encourage any students that are coming to FCTC apply for this scholarship, they have over 1,000 awards of $2500.00 to give away!!!

St. Johns County’s Horse Council

The St Johns County Horse Council Scholarship is awarded to outstanding youth in NE Florida pursuing higher education in a college or university. The St Johns County Horse Council Scholarship is awarded to the sons and daughters of SJCHC Family members or to an Individual SJCHC member in good standing.

QUALIFICATIONS 

1) Applicant must be a current member of the St Johns County Horse Council in good standing, either as an Individual member, or as part of a Family membership.

2) Applicant must be majoring in a field of study preparing them for a career in the equine industry.

3) Applicant must have demonstrated a record of activity in the equine industry prior to college application.

4) Scholarship may also be used for Graduate School or Vet School.
