Blood Drive during Health Fair, October 30th. Sign up in room 975 with Mr. Hoog.

Homecoming Dance Tickets are on sale, during all lunches in Mrs. Lippo’s office (in the front office). The dance will be held in the PMHS Gymnasium on October 25th, from 8-11pm.  Tickets are $9.  If you are bringing a date from another school, they MUST have the dance form filled out before a ticket can be purchased.  Those forms are in Ms. Price’s office. If your date is between the ages of 18-20 they MUST get a background check and bring in the form before a ticket can be purchased.  No one over the age of 20 or younger than a 9th grader can come to the dance, this means no 8th graders. There will be NO tickets sold at the door to the dance!  You must pre-purchase a ticket!

If you have any questions about the dance, dress code, etc., please see Ms. Winter, Ms. Kiara Williams, or Ms. Lippo.

The Florida Teens Read Book Club is meeting Wednesday, October 29th at 3 pm in the media center. This month we will be discussing Eleanor and Park. Make sure you have at least started reading the book so you have something to discuss. Buses leave at 4 if you need a ride home.

Boys’ Basketball tryouts start October 27th and 28th. All players must have a physical on file to tryout. Please sign the signup sheet on Coach Bailey’s door, room 999. Football players who plan on trying out when their season is over must sign the signup sheet too.

After the first quarter ends (10/23), if you have not turned in your AUP form to the library, you will not be allowed to use a computer. Sorry, no exceptions. If you’re not sure if you have, ask your teacher or the library staff directly.

Dodgeball Tournament.  Athletic Leadership Council is hosting a Halloween Spooktacular Dodgeball Tournament on Oct. 29 at PMHS.  Informational packets are located in the Deans office.  Teams must sign up by Oct. 17.  See Dean Winter or any ALC member with questions!

Mandatory Jr. Class skit meetings every morning at 8:00am In Coach Ryan’s room 935.

Thank you to all who came last night to the Boys Basketball Spirit night at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a fun event and a great turn out.

A BIG shout out to Avery for winning the Blazing Wing eating contest.  Well done!

The PSAT will be offered next Wednesday, October 15th. If you are a 9th or 11th grader the cost is $15. This is a great opportunity to practice for the SAT. Sign up with Ms. Giuliani in Guidance.

If you are a 10th grader you are already signed up and will be taking it on the 15th. There is no cost for 10th graders. If you have any questions see your counselor.

Fill The Bus Canned Food Drive- The Athletic Leadership Council is sponsoring a canned food drive.  Please bring a canned good to school this week to help “fill the bus.”  There is a drop off location outside of Dean Winter’s office, or you can take it to your teacher.  Please help to feed families this Thanksgiving.

A Big thank you goes out to the Delta Omicron Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa for donating food for the Stuff the Bus competition.

CONGRATULATIONS to the boys’ golf team.

Senior James Scott, Match Medalist, shot a 40 to lead the Boy’s golf team to a 173 win over  St Joseph 186 Clay 193. He was followed by, Eric Prill who carded a  41, John Gleaton, David Dendler who both shot a 45 and Walker Sims 51.

The Boy’s play Nease today to finish out the season.. so please release the following students at 2:00Pm today, for an away match…David Dendler, John Gleaton, Eric Prill, James Scott, Walker Sims

Our Pedro Menendez Fall Open House is tonight, Thursday, October 2nd.

At 5:30 we will have a baked ziti dinner in the cafeteria.  After that you will be able to visit classrooms.

You will also able to sign up for home access, buy a yearbook at discounted rate and sign up for an account at VyStar.

Athletic Leadership Council is sponsoring a Canned Food Drive.  We are competing in a “Fill the Bus” Challenge against Nease High School.  Please bring your canned food donations to the Dean’s office.  There will be collection bins outside of Dean Winter’s office.  The final date to donate is Oct. 10, when we play Nease at home in football.  Let’s fill the bus Menendez!
