5/18/-5/19:  The media center is holding one last party to celebrate the end of the school year and the movie release of John Green’s Paper Towns this Wednesday, May 20th, from 3-4:30 pm. We will have snacks and games. Come out and party one more time with us! Please make sure you have a way home.

 

Seniors’ last day: Seniors: please make sure you get all your textbooks and library books returned by senior clearance day. All lost textbooks also need to be paid for before graduation. If you’re not sure what you owe, email Mrs. Neff to find out. She will email you back the books you have.

 

All library books are due by this Wednesday, May 20th.

 

Seniors only: we will have textbook return this Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st in room 221 after your exams. Please wait to turn in your textbooks until then. Thank you!

 

National Art Honor Society students – Seniors – you need to pay $9 for your honor cords and tassels. All members need to pick up their certificates in Ms. Modling’s room.

 

The ALC will begin selling the Paint it Pedro shirts today!  Coach Winter will  have them in her office, and will be out in the courtyard at lunches.  The $10 purchase gets you:  t-shirt, free tailgate food (starting at 6pm), and entry into the Paint War.  To clarify, students wishing to watch the football game will still need to pay $7.  These are separate costs/events.  The football game is a “white out” so please wear your Paint it Pedro shirt!  Hope to see you there!

There will be auditions for Fall Guard. Meetings will take place tomorrow, Thursday, May 14. The meeting is from 4pm-6pm in the band room. Please come dressed in comfortable athletic clothing you can move in, preferably black. ALL are welcome to participate, and NO experience is necessary!

The Concert Band will be performing their final concert of the year tomorrow, Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 in the PAC. Come out to support your fellow students and hear some great music. There will be a bake sale organized by our Winterguard members.

Prom dress closet is open. See Coach Ryan.

Any senior accepted to USF and attending please see Mr. Hoog ASAP.

Underclassmen interested in running for class office for the 2015/2016 school year, applications are in the front office, at Ms. Cleary’s desk.  They must be returned by today, May 5th!

Boy’s & Girl’s weightlifting banquet will be next Monday, May 11th @ 6:15pm in the cafeteria. Please return form to Coach Turner by Wednesday, May 6th.

The DEADLINE is FRIDAY!  How is your 1st period doing in the collection of personal care items for the Betty Griffin House?  The class that collects the most items per student will win a Chick-fil-A breakfast of chick-n-minis, fruit, and juice.  Please donate shampoo, soap, body wash, diapers, paper towels, etc.

PMHS Winterguard auditions. Audition camp is May 7th, 12th, 14th, and 15th from 4:00-6:00pm. They will be held in the Pedro Menendez HS band room. No experience required. Everyone is welcome.

We first want to congratulate all 13 of the contestants for putting on a great show Friday night!  We would also like to thank all of the teachers and staff who helped with the pageant and those who came to watch and support the girls.  Here were the results:

Prom tickets are on sale in Mrs. Taylor’s office. They are $85. If you are bringing a guest from outside of Pedro Menendez High School, they must have a guest form filled out which is also available from Mrs. Taylor.

If you would like to earn volunteer hours at Southwoods 5K, 10K, 15K Challenge Spud Runs this Saturday May 2nd, see Mrs. Carter or Mrs. Price for more information.
