The football Banquet will be Monday Jan. 12th @ Crescent Beach Baptist Church. RSVPs need to be turned in to Coach Turner by this Friday.

 “Baseball is having a Spirit Night at Cheezees Grill this Thursday, December 18th.  Please come out and support the Baseball team.  Just let them know why you are there when you order.  Dine in or Carry out only.”

Any student interested in joining track for the 2015 season should go to Mrs. De Vries’s classroom to sign up and get an information sheet?

“Anyone considering trying out for baseball in January, please stop by and see Coach Cofield in room 400 before Christmas Break.”

Reminder: If you are planning to sign up for the SAT being given in January, the deadline is December 27!

There will be a boys’ soccer fundraiser at Cold Cow on Wednesday, December 17th from 5pm-10-pm. Please come out and support PMHS Boys’ Soccer.

“Congratulations to the Boys Soccer teams yesterday for their wins over Palatka High.  JV had a 2-0 victory and Varsity had a 2-1 victory with goals from James Scott.  Great job boys!”

Dodgeball tournament: Athletic Leadership council will be hosting a Holiday themed dodgeball tournament on Dec. 11th.  Forms and rosters are in the Deans office on Mrs. Carter’s desk.  Forms are due back to Mrs. Carter by today.  Cost is $10 per player.  Prizes and a team trophy will be awarded!

The media center will be open today except for A and B lunch.

  • Members of the boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Footlocker Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday. Reagan Bush broke her own school record again. Nicholas Parker, Chase Kelly and Alex Woolfolk all improved their personal bests making the 2014 boys team the fastest team in Menendez school history.
  • The annual Gamble Rogers versus Menendez 2 mile fun run will be held this Wednesday at Gamble Rogers Middle starting at 4:00PM. All cross country and track athletes who do not have other sport obligations are expected to participate. Please arrive early. Call or text Coach de Vries with any questions.
  • National Honor Society      will meet on Friday, December 5th at 8:30 in the media      center.  Please bring your planners and be on time.

If you are interested in hearing a financial aid director speak about the “ins and outs” of financial aid for college and would like an opportunity to ask questions, please join us this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the PAC at Nease.  Everyone is welcome 9th to 12th grade, please come!!!!!!

We will be offering the ASVAB test on our campus tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19.  You can sign up to take the ASVAB in Guidance.

The next meeting of the Florida Teens Read Book Club will be during LUNCHES tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19th. The book we’re reading this month is The Naturals. Make sure you’ve at least started the book so you have something to talk about. We will meet in the media center during all lunches on the 19th. Hope to see you there.

Please help student council’s food drive by donating canned food to the media center. For every can you donate, we will take 50 cents off any old fines you still have. We will be accepting donations in the media center up until winter break. Thanks!

The media center will be having an after school party on Thursday, November 20 at 4pm to celebrate the release of Mocking jay Part I. We will have games, trivia, and snacks from 4-5:30 pm. Transportation home is very limited, so please try and have your own ride prepared. Hope to see you there!

ATTENTION FBLA MEMBERS:  Please plan to attend the FBLA meeting TOMORROW morning—Wednesday, November 19—at 8:30 a.m.  There will be a guest speaker.

There is a Best Buddies activity Thursday during 6th period. Make sure your permission slips are turned in.

Teens for Change- a club that promotes a drug and alcohol free environment, along with educating students about the dangers of substance abuse. We’ll be advertising The Great American Smoke Out this Thursday. If you are interested in the club, you can sign up during A lunch in the courtyard. By signing up, you also receive a free T-shirt.
