Students, teachers and staff, on March 4th we will be hosting the second annual Cultural Fair from 5-7pm. Come out to Pedro Menendez for a night of cultural fun!

  • MHS Athletic Booster Club is hosting the Spring-4-A-Cause 5K on March 21st.  Please see Mrs. Taylor for details.

 

Dodgeball Tournament- the Athletic Leadership Council will be hosting a Hawaiian themed Dodgeball Tournament on March 9th.  Information and team packets are available in the Deans office.  Teams consist of 8 people, and have at least 3 girls.  The cost is $80 per team.  Prizes are given out as well!  See Coach Winter with any questions.

Athletic Leadership Council:  Applications for Athletic Leadership Council are still available in the Deans office.  Applications are due back to Coach Winter by this Friday, February 27th!  See her with any questions.

The SJRSC scholarships are in. They are under the May section of the PMHS scholarship page. Please see your counselor in guidance if you have any questions.

Student Council- All this week during lunches Student Council will be raising money for Relay for Life.

Tonight, Student Council will be having a Spirit Night at Cold Cow from 5-9. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life.

This Friday, February 27th, Student Council is hosting a movie night from 6-8. We will be showing the movie, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and all proceeds will go to relay for Life. It is $5 to get in.

There will be a fundraiser tomorrow, Thursday, February 26, from 3pm-10pm at Cold Cow. There will also be a silent Auction and Raffle. Tickets will be sold 3 for $5.00. Lots of good items to be raffled off. All proceeds go to help 8th grade Gamble Rogers student Makinley Rain Morris, who is battling Leukemia. Come out and show support.

Girls, did you attend the Women in IT presentation here at PMHS?  If so, don’t forget to apply for the one week summer paid internship at CITI. You can apply online at Women in IT. ORG.  Deadline is March 31st.  See Mrs. Danner in Guidance if you have questions.

SENIORS: the Jostens representatives will return to Pedro on Thursday, March 5th during all lunches to collect graduation payments.

Book Club meets today, Wednesday after school in the media center. We will be discussing Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

Any student interested in trying out for next year’s cheerleading squad, please stop outside of Ms. Williams’ room #245 to pick up information.

Grad Bash- We only have 1 more spots left for Grad Bash!  Please see Dean Winter with your deposit ASAP to reserve a spot.  Final payments are due before March 6th!  No refunds will be given for any reason!  Permission forms are due back before March 3oth.

The public library is holding a teen anime art contest and you’re welcome to submit your original art now through March 28th. Each artist can submit up to 3 pieces of artwork. See Mrs. Neff in the media center for an entry form and more information.

“Three of Mr. Cofield’s drafting competitors finished 1st 2nd and 3rd in the Skills USA drafting competition on Friday at FSCJ.  They will be moving on to compete in the State competition in Lakeland in April.  Great job guys!”

Grad Bash- Currently, there are only 24 spots left for the Grad Bash trip!  These spots will be on a first come, first serve basis.  A deposit of $50 is required to hold your spot.  The full payment of $110 is due on or before March 6th to Mrs. Winter.  Please see her with any questions!

Join Scuba club for upcoming dive certification and dives. For more information see Mrs. DeVries in room 735. Meeting next Tuesday at 8:45am and after school.

The boys basketball team will be hosting the Regional Quarterfinal game at Menendez, tomorrow night, Thursday at 7pm. Tickets are $7 for ages 8 and up due to it being a FHSAA State event.  We will be doing a “blue out” and the Blue Bird Gang shirts are on sale for $5 to promote the event.  Shirts will be sold in Mrs. Winter’s office and at school during lunches.  Please come out to support the basketball team and wear blue!

Sean Riggs and Gavin Ashley are today’s basketball raffle winners and will each receive a ticket to Thursday night’s basketball game versus Baker County.  The winners can come pick up their tickets Thursday from Coach Bailey.
