Congratulations to the Cross country Team: Reagan Bush placed third overall at the Katie Caples cross country invitational on Saturday. Reagan was recognized by the St. Augustine Record for her outstanding performance.

The boys’ varsity cross-country team beat St. Augustine high school again for the second week in a row.

“Interested in Community Service?  There will be an Interact Club meeting this Thursday, immediately after school in Mr. Higgins’ room, 825.”

Blood Drive is now full. Remember to eat well prior to donating blood on the 23rd of this month. Also, remember to bring your picture ID (not school ID) and your pass to the bus. If you have misplaced the pass, see MR. Hoog in room 975.

If you are interested in joining FBLA, the Future Business Leaders of America, please see Mrs. Pat Smith in Room 970.  Information sheets and membership forms are available.  The first meeting and election of officers is this Friday, September 19.

Please be aware that the media center will be closed next week for EOC testing. Plan ahead because it will be closed all week during the school day and we cannot let anyone in during test sessions. Thank you!

Interested in joining the softball team? There will be a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17 before school at 8:30 in room 420. Everyone is welcome. If you have any questions, please see coach Sincavage in room 935.

The first meeting of our new Florida Teens Read book club will be Wednesday, September 24th from 3-4 in the media center. Our first book will be the 5th Wave, so make sure you’ve at least started reading the book before the meeting! We will have snacks and there will be buses home if you need them.

There will be an Art Club and National Art Honor Society meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17th at 8:30am in Ms. Modling’s room, 223. Please bring your $10 dues and filled out permission form.

Ping Pong club meeting will be on Thursday directly after school.  Meet in Mr. Luker’s room 830, and the meeting will go until 5:00.  Please make sure you have a ride home.

Student council is pleased to announce the 1st Blood drive of the year is September 23rd- sign up in room 975 with Mr. Hoog. Seniors there is a scholarship associated with donating.

Student Drivers:

Please purchase your parking decals.  You need to bring a notarized application, your Driver’s License, registration and car insurance plus $75 to Mrs. John.

Any vehicle without a parking decal will be ticketed and the possibility of a boot placed on the vehicle!

College visits begin this week, sign up in the Guidance Office.

If you are interested in pursuing a web or graphic design career, AIGA, The American Institute for Graphic Arts, is hosting a spectacular mentoring program in Jacksonville. Interested students need to apply by Monday, September 15th. See Mrs. Bendt in Room 925 for details.

Sophomore class meeting Tuesday the 16th at 8:30 in Mrs. Jasmin’s room, 650).  We will be discussing upcoming events, including skit night.  If you cannot attend please see Mrs. Jasmin, room 650 or Ms. Lengyel, room 440.

Congratulations to the Boy’s Golf team.  Freshman John Gleaton and senior James Scott both fired a 39 followed closely behind by Walker Sims 41,Tocco Conklin 42, Eric Prill 43 beating both St Joseph and St Augustine in a Tri Match at the St. Johns Golf Club.

VyStar- The Falcon branch of the VyStar Credit Union is now open for the year. Bring $5 and come in during your lunch period and open an account. Then spin the wheel to win a prize. The branch is located in room 422, near the cafeteria.

Attention Seniors- A Jostens representative will return today, Tuesday, September 2nd during all lunches. This is the time for you to order your Graduation Products. Don’t forget to go over with your parents, all the information you received in your graduation packet. A deposit of $60, $80, or $100 is required to order.

 Students, please remember to turn in your signed acceptable use policy (AUP) forms ASAP! Without them turned in, you cannot use the computers in the media center or any other technology through the school. Also, make sure you’ve returned all your library books from last year. If not, you will not be able to check out books this year until you do. The media center will open next Tuesday!

The 2014 College and Career Night event is tomorrow night, Wednesday, September 3rd.  The event is from 6-7:30 PM in the Creekside High School Gymnasium.

Any Freshman that would like to be included in the homecoming skit and/or run for an office see Coach Melgard during your lunch in the cafeteria today, Tuesday, September 2nd.

Monday – May 19, 2014

Beginning today, May 19th, Yearbooks will be sold from Room 925 during all lunches. Sales will continue from here for the balance of the school year.

All media center books are due back by Friday, May 23rd unless you are reading them as a class assignment. If the media center is closed for testing, just drop your books in the book drop outside. Thank you!

USTA & Harbour Island Tennis are offering a Try Tennis for Free Program during the month of May. This is free group tennis lessons for beginners. The 13-17 year old group is from 10:30 to 11:15 May 24 & 31 at Harbour Island Tennis Centre.   Please see Mrs. John for more information.

The Athletic Leadership Council will be putting on a free Fun Zone Friday night before the Spring Football game.  Activities will be from 5-7, and include giant hamster ball races, corn hole and face painting.  They will also be selling t-shirts this week for $10.  Please see Dean Winter to get yours!

The media center and public library are throwing one last party before the school year is over! This Thursday from 4-5:15 in the media center, we will be having an end-of-the-year/The Fault in Our Stars themed party. Buses leave at 5:30 if you need transportation home.

Prom tickets will be on sale in Mrs. John’s office before school, during all 3 lunches and after school until tomorrow, Thursday May 15 @ 4:00pm.  Cost of ticket is now $95

TARDIES to school – We have begun closely tracking tardies to school. Over the past several weeks epidemic tardies have had a negative impact upon individual student’s grades and grades of other students. Upon the 3rd unexcused tardy to school, which started Monday, April 28th and will conclude the last day of school students will lose their driving privileges.

Seniors who ride the bus but would like to drive during exam week may purchase a parking pass for $10. You will need to bring to Mrs. John your driver’s license, vehicle registration and automobile insurance card by Friday May 16th.

The booster club will be having a spirit night at Chick-Fil-A tonight, Wed, May 14th from 5:30-7:30?  Proceeds support all sports.

Anyone interested in running cross country next year, there is a meeting today, Wednesday after school in room 735.
