Beginning today, May 19th, Yearbooks will be sold from Room 925 during all lunches. Sales will continue from here for the balance of the school year.

All media center books are due back by Friday, May 23rd unless you are reading them as a class assignment. If the media center is closed for testing, just drop your books in the book drop outside. Thank you!

USTA & Harbour Island Tennis are offering a Try Tennis for Free Program during the month of May. This is free group tennis lessons for beginners. The 13-17 year old group is from 10:30 to 11:15 May 24 & 31 at Harbour Island Tennis Centre.   Please see Mrs. John for more information.

The Athletic Leadership Council will be putting on a free Fun Zone Friday night before the Spring Football game.  Activities will be from 5-7, and include giant hamster ball races, corn hole and face painting.  They will also be selling t-shirts this week for $10.  Please see Dean Winter to get yours!

The media center and public library are throwing one last party before the school year is over! This Thursday from 4-5:15 in the media center, we will be having an end-of-the-year/The Fault in Our Stars themed party. Buses leave at 5:30 if you need transportation home.

Prom tickets will be on sale in Mrs. John’s office before school, during all 3 lunches and after school until tomorrow, Thursday May 15 @ 4:00pm.  Cost of ticket is now $95

TARDIES to school – We have begun closely tracking tardies to school. Over the past several weeks epidemic tardies have had a negative impact upon individual student’s grades and grades of other students. Upon the 3rd unexcused tardy to school, which started Monday, April 28th and will conclude the last day of school students will lose their driving privileges.

Seniors who ride the bus but would like to drive during exam week may purchase a parking pass for $10. You will need to bring to Mrs. John your driver’s license, vehicle registration and automobile insurance card by Friday May 16th.

The booster club will be having a spirit night at Chick-Fil-A tonight, Wed, May 14th from 5:30-7:30?  Proceeds support all sports.

Anyone interested in running cross country next year, there is a meeting today, Wednesday after school in room 735.

A representative from Edward Waters College will be on campus today, Wednesday during all lunches to offer on the spot admission decisions and scholarships. Any senior who hasn’t decided what their plans are for next year should speak to a representative. They will be in the guidance office during lunch, come by during your assigned lunch only.

There will be a GSA meeting in room 755 after school today Wednesday. Everyone is welcome!

Dalton Hodge scored for PMHS at the State Track Finals placing 8th overall (he was ranked 11th) matching his season best time.  Congratulations Dalton!

Tickets for the Powder Puff game will go on sale today, Wednesday April 30. Tickets will be sold in Mrs. John’s office during lunch. Tickets are $3 in advance or $5 at the door. The game is Monday, May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) at 6pm.

Miss Menendez is tonight, Wednesday, April 30th, at 6:30pm in the PAC.  Tickets are on sale during all lunches, $5 pre-sale, $7 at the door!  Come out and support these 14 lovely young ladies!!

Monday – April 28, 2014

Congratulations to Trey Kidd and Trevon Bryant who competed at the Boys Weightlifting State Meet this Saturday.  Trey medaled 4th out of 18, in the 183 pound weight class with a 605 pound total.  Trevon finished 8th out of 18, in the 169 pound weight class with a 560 pound total.  These young men worked very hard this season, so please congratulate them if you see them!

Sports Physicals!! If you plan on playing sports for the 2014-2015 school year you must have a current physical on file! Physicals for next school year will be this Saturday, April 26th, from 8am-10:30am for $10 at Orthopedic Associates of St. Augustine. Football is from 8-9, all other sports from 9-10:30.  There are NO free physicals this year, and the $10 goes directly to the athletic department.  If you have any questions see Ms. John, Coach Sapp, or Ms. Lippo.

The Falcon Football Lift-a-thon will be in the Gym today, Wednesday at 4pm. All participant Money is due at that time, and fans are welcome to come watch. This will kick off an exciting Spring and upcoming season!

The boys’ basketball team’s banquet is going to have their banquet on Monday, April 28 at 6 pm here at Menendez. Sonny’s is catering. The cost is $10 per person. Senior players and team managers are free. Former players and coaches from previous years are welcome to attend. Please see Coach Melgard for a reservation form.

The annual prom fashion show is back!! Today, Wednesday, April 23rd, starting at 6:30pm, come out for a night filled with beautiful dresses and classic suits. Tickets are sold for $5 at the door. All proceeds go to prom fundraising.

“The baseball team will be holding a carwash this Saturday, April 26th from 10am to 2pm.  It will be held at Memorial Lutheran Church on US1 next to Tractor Supply.  Please come out and support the baseball team and get your car squeaky clean.”

This Friday, April 25th Student Council will be hosting the 1st annual Pedro Fun night, from 7-9pm in the courtyard. Only if 100 tickets are sold by this Thursday, April 24th. Donations will go to Relay for Life.

Attention NHS members—meeting this Friday 4/25 at 8:30 am in room 245. We will have elections, present senior stoles and have breakfast. Please be on time.

There will be a meeting for the GSA club in room 755 after school today, Wednesday, April 23.  Everyone is welcome.
